Introduction to Electrical Engineering
I recently applied to a Software Engineering coding boot camp for the second time and I got rejected for the second time. So, what does that mean for me? Easy. It means that whenever a door closes, Allah opens another one and another one. After all, one of His Beautiful names is Al- Fatah( The Opener). Always have good thoughts of Allah as the Prophet (SAW) said; " Allah says: "I am as my servant thinks I am, and I am with him when he remembers me. If he remembers me to himself, I remember him to myself, if he remembers Me in a gathering, I remember him in a gathering better than it, If he draws near to Me a handspan, I draw near to him an arm's length, if he draws near to me an arm's length, I draw near to him a fathom's length, If he comes to Me walking, I go to him running"
I immediately applied to an online course that teaches me Electrical Engineering from a beginner to a professional and it's a change of pace for me. I normally gravitate towards IT but this time I chose something different. Here are the notes I took and I will share them as I progress forward in my learning journey In Shaa Allah.
3 Main Stages of Electricity
- Generation( Either using renewable Energy like solar and wind or fossil fuels)
- Transmission
- Distribution
What is an electric circuit? An electric circuit is an interconnection of electrical elements. Basic circuit consists of battery which is source of electricity, electrical loads and wires connecting between them.
What is an Electric Charge? A charge is an electrical property of the atomic particles of which matter consists, measured in Coulumbs ( C). Coulombs is a unit of measurement of Electrons or Electric Charges in general. Each atom consists of electrons, protons and neutrons.
- Protons= Positive Charge
- Neutrons=No charge
- Electrons=Negative Charge
Inside the structure of the atom, we have nucleus and orbits around nucleus. The orbit is made of Electrons while inside the nucleus, we have protons and neutrons. Electrons are rotating around the nucleus at a high speed. Electron is negative and equal in magnitude to 11.602*10
