GENEROUS GIVING TO THE MOSQUE

This is a summary of the Friday Khutbah( Sermon) on 18/11/2022

I woke up late that Friday morning as I slept late but that didn't deter me from making the most of my Friday. I immediately started praying Fajr and then recited Surah Al- Kahf in it's entirety. I then went to the nearby coffee shop and started doing some work, finishing up some blogs, creating sites and all that good stuff. When it was time to get ready, I was excited and happy that I was going to the mosque. This is a beautiful feeling that cannot be described and has to be experienced personally. May Allah attach our hearts to His Houses. Ameen.

As I neared the mosque, I was stopped by an old Pakistani man who was looking for the directions to the nearest mosque. I gladly helped him find his way and we chatted along the way on different topics including how expensive it is to live in today's world compared to his when growing up. Taking this man to the mosque made my day more enjoyable as I was a conduit for this man to worship His Lord. I was counting on getting to the mosque an hour before the Khutbah started but because of helping this man find the mosque, I was able to get 20 minutes before the sermon started. May Allah accept it from me as I made the intention to make it early, Ameen.

The sermon was dedicated to giving Charity ( Sadaqah) 'generously' to the msoques as doing so is among the best of deeds. The masajids (mosques) are the home of the believers, the place of Taqwa (Piety) and for the pious. It's a place where the Ayahs (verses) of Allah are recited in, it is a place the souls of the believers find bliss, it's where the sinner asks for Allah's forgiveness and Mercy. It is where the Mercy of Allah showers upon the believers as you all know the Hadith of the Prophet( PBUH) ,
Abu Hurairah and Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "When a group of people assemble for the remembrance of Allah, the angels surround them (with their wings), (Allah's) mercy envelops them, Sakinah, or tranquillity descends upon them and Allah makes a mention of them before those who are near Him.''

He who make the mosque his home will have his/her rank elevated, their hearts will be in tranquility and be reassured, their enemies will be destroyed and this brings out the devout believers through their sujood( Prostration) as seen on their faces. Allah raised the status of the Masajids and therefore should be maintained by those truly guided. May Allah make us amongst them, Ameen.

On the Day of Judgement, there will be 7 categories of people who will be under the Shade of Allah's Arsh( Throne) when there is no other shade other than His. They are;
  1. A Just Ruler
  2. A youth who grew up in the worship of Allah
  3. A man whose heart is attached to the mosques
  4. Two men who love each other for Allah’s sake, meeting for that and parting upon that
  5. A man who is called by a woman of beauty and position but he says: ‘I fear Allah’
  6. a man who gives in charity and hides it, such that his left hand does not know what his right hand gives in charity
  7. A man who remembered Allah in private and so his eyes shed tear
The first thing the Prophet (PBUH) did when he migrated to Medina, was to build a mosque in Quba. If you relocate to a new city or place , the first thing you should look for is a mosque as this  balances everything out in your life. Your priorities are set in the right order when we have the Masajid in our hearts. We should strive to maintain the mosques our hearts are connected to and we should not persist in sin. May Allah make us attached to the mosques and make us of those who strive to maintain them and be a role model for the future generations In Shaa Allah, Ameen. We have no excuse not to go the mosques nowadays as we live in a technologically advanced world where if it's cold outside, we have cars that have heaters in them and the same goes for someone who lives in a hot environment as he/she can utilize the AC. Let's make the sincere intentions to make the mosques our home and Allah will ease it for us. Thank You all.

Knocking On Al-Fatah's Doors (The Opener)

The moment I came across the following series which go into depth the nam es of Allah, my life changed for the better. Not only did I grow more intimate towards my Lord, but the amount of joy and sweetness I got out of it is  unexplainable.  https://www.islam21c.com/theology/one-god-many-names-al-fattah-the-opener/ . I urge all my readers to go and read the above article and then the series as one of the names that I want to talk about today is Al-Fatah(The opener) and the reasons why I want to share how it changed my life.  I have been dealing with a mental block for almost 3 years now and although I do not want to complain to other than Allah, I'll try and paint a picture for my audience to understand. I would set my mind to do something like reading a book and I would read it for a couple of pages and then boom, I would put it aside. I would start to feel this immense shadow of tiredness and feelings of procrastination and would therefore stop there. I didn't understand why

What Blue Line? ( Part 1)

Sergeant Paddy is notoriously known for his anger issuess coupled with his ego on top of a racist and supremecist attitude. Many people do not know that he also deals in drugs and has significant ties to the human trafficking business in his city and state. Buckle up and expect to be filled with rage as this is a story about the dark side of human nature and the power of corruption. Under a bridge on a late afternoon sits Sergeant Paddy and his lapdog Officer Shamrock drinking his coffee while the other smokes a cigarette. This was the spot chosen earlier that day to inspect a load of 'meat' ( a term to describe the women and children trafficked). You would be asking yourself how can such an abhorrent crime be happening in broadlight but don't forget that this man is the head of a unit which by now can be described as a cartel with badges. The city was awash with drugs, crime was skyrocketing and the streets were filled with addicts.  The head of the Police department,a wo

What Blue Line ( The Witch)

This is the story of the woman who was just known as the 'Witch' instead of her name Gabriella, the head of the Police Department of the City of Hagora. A city once celebrated for innovation and technology now harbors a sinister secret.  Let me describe to you the character of this woman by the nickname The Witch. She has no feminine qualities you would typically find in women nor does she have any masculine qualities. She’s in a state of limbo , always in doubt of herself as she knows what she is involved in is wrong . No amount of makeup can hide the ugliness of her soul projected on her face. She has no sincere bone in her body and even her children are repulsed by her character. She is double faced in her dealings with the residents of her city she polices. She is a master of deception, playing a double game with the unsuspecting residents she's meant to protect. She is involved in dark magic and uses it against people that she doesn’t like. She has access to their DNA
